Sohini and Children

From early on in her career, Sohini has been actively involved in spreading her craft to children across the world, through specially scripted dance items & participative workshops. She has run projects and programs involving pre-school to pre-university children - where they have learnt, honed and performed Indian dance, often with a variety of messages depicted through colourful dance based storytelling on Indian mythology, Indian Vedas, Hymns and Chants, and introductions to the worlds of Rabindranath Tagore, the Mother Goddess ethos and a variety of related and fascinating subjects for the children – taking India to them.

She has been a regular performer and story-teller through dance for displaced and underprivileged children throughout the world, most notably in Maharashtra, India, Austria, Germany and Italy – empowering, and healing, through her art and a natural gift for weaving fascinating spells through her storytelling through dance and mudras – contributing, in her own way, to infusing their difficult lives with a little bit of magic.
